Did you know that the Caesar Salad was invented in Tijuana?

After an influx of customers had depleted his restaurant’s supplies, Caesar Cardini made due with what he had in his restaurant aptly named “Caesar’s.” Julia Child recounts that she was told by Caesar’s daughter, Rosa, that the romaine lettuce of the salad was served in full leaf form because each leaf was meant to be lifted and eaten by hand. The original recipe also didn’t have anchovies.
