First bi-national bridge between Mexico and USA

Thanks to the bi-national bridge, tourism and the economy of the area will grow.

Baja California now has a bridge connecting the city of Tijuana with the city of San Diego. Its purpose is to avoid long lines at the border crossing booths of the Mexico-United States border. This new bi-national bridge is better known as “Cross Border Xpress”, which is a border crossing from within the Tijuana International Airport to the new commercial development zone in San Diego, California.

It’s a new bridge that involves a 120-meter walk. Individuals must show their tickets and boarding pass at the airport, and pay an 18-dollar adult fee for the service. Persons over 65 years of age and children between 3 and 12 years old will be granted a 20% discount.

The frontier between the United States and Mexico is one of the busiest in the world. The Tijuana airport is estimated to be used by over two million passengers per year who cross the border; potential customers could be as high as 60% of the users.

Tickets can be purchased at the Tijuana airport itself or online at the website www.crossborderxpress.com

Besides avoiding over 45 minutes of waiting to cross to the United States, the cross border bridge in the city of Tijuana will be an attractive opportunity for businesses that will give a significant boost to the economy of the region.
