Tijuana-San Diego are among the 20 top tourism destinations.

The National Geographic Traveler magazine considered the cities of Tijuana and San Diego to be among the 20 top tourism destinations in the world this year. The magazine published this information in an article titled “Best Trips 2016”, where the variety of cultures and tourist attractions offered by both cities together are highlighted.

This information is based on an interview of Tijuana-born chef Javier Plascencia, a proprietor of several restaurants in the city. He mentions important art galleries such as Cecut, as well as the boom of culinary art. Likewise, he mentions San Diego’s attractions such as its beaches, the largest zoo in the world and its movie theatres.

In this article he recommends taking the San Diego trolley toward the Tijuana border, where it is preferable to walk or order a cab to tour Avenida Revolución, since it’s one of the best-known streets of special historical interest in the city. It’s being called “the most visited city in the world”.

According to this edition, the top tourist destination of 2016 is the capital of the Bermuda Islands, and it also included regions such as Burgundy in France, the Hawaiian volcanos and the Danube River. Still, it included the cities of San Diego and Tijuana as a single destination for enjoying an amazing trip.

The two cities offer an accessible border crossing which can be travelled several times a week, thus experiencing a complete change of setting where two different cultures can be enjoyed. Tijuana offers cultural variety with inhabitants hailing from various places in the country, as well as a stress-free destination.
