Tijuana’s industrial sector will have competitive electric rates

Posted on Share on:

InterGen has signed an agreement with the state government which will permit electric energy to be offered at a lower cost than that of the CFE (The Federal Electricity Commission), this will mainly be destined to the industrial sector.

Industry in Tijuana will soon be able to benefit thanks to InterGen which will assign 100 of the 180 megawatts it will produce during the year to the city’s industry. 24 megawatts will be destined to the industry in Mexicali and the remaining 56 megawatts will be given to the Rio Colorado aqueduct. – Tijuana

The rates offered by InterGen will be lower than those currently offered by the CFE. It’s not the first time this company produces electricity for the industrial sector, as a matter of fact, the first agreement was made in 2014 in which 19 companies took advantage of 80 megawatts.
